NEW COURSE CALENDAR Week 9 +

The Nutz & Boltz of it...

1. As a student of SA 132 you need to check into our class blog SP2020CazSA132.blogspot.com between the hours of 9 am and 6 PM on M W & F and to our blog and FaceBook Class Group site, minimum.
Make note of this in your personal calendars.

2. I will alert you to any new updates to our blog pages through your CAZ email as I post them. 
This is your responsibility alone to keep a close eye on your email.

3. Each Friday I will check to make sure your Virtual Sketchbook Entries have been loaded with full details completed from the assignment. 
* This includes your comments on your colleague's works.

Please re-read the already published Virtual Sketchbook Rubric carefully to fully understand this assignment so you know you are completing it to the best of your ability.

Mark your calendars when each Virtual Sketchbook Entry trio are due and published to our FB.site, they are as follows:
MAR 27 = 27 entries of 40
APR 03 = 30
APR 10 = 33
APR 17 = 36
APR 24 = 39
MAY 01 = 40

4. Make sure to comply with all DUE dates.  Should you not understand something or are having problems with anything you need to pose those questions to me by email at jpepper@cazenovia immediately.


5. You have two research papers to complete.
And a creative response to the Fischli & Weiss film "The Way things Go".
There are four studio projects to complete for the course. They include Project #4 Cardboard Construction, Project #5 FRACTIONS + Upcycles> FAKE NATURE > Wearables,  Project #6 Site-Specific Installation inspired by Andy Goldsworthy and Project #7 the Student Directed Final Project.  Thus, as you can see I have added one short project into the mix from our original course calendar.

Project #4 DUE DATE =  FRI APR 3rd by 6 PM
Your uploads to FBsite need to include the following
i. Upload 3 works-in-progress images (see below for dates)

Followed by ii through vii, once your project has been completed: 
ii. Upload 4 images of your completed project from different perspectives 
iii. Upload 1 video not to exceed 90 seconds  of your completed work: Be playful with your construction. Place it in different environments inside and out. 
Create an interesting video of your playful actions not to exceed 1.5 minutes  
iv. Put details of your construction project in the comment area including:
Overall size > Height x length x depth in inches
v. Materials used
vi. What kind of adhesives did you use?
vii. Upload one image from your sketchbook of your inspirational source with title and artist/designer if applicable

MON MAR 23 @ 6 PM
- I know that most of you are already working on both Project #4 and Project #5 simultaneously. Please continue to do that.
- Check into the Blog to make sure you have read all new class notes and assignments
- Check into FBsite and follow any new prompts posted

- Upload a multi media presentation of your Research paper #1/2 artist. This needs to include 5 separate images and may be completed as a:
  • still image upload
  • a video upload
  • a voice over combined with imagery
  • Be inventive! 
  • Be creative!

FRI APR 03 @ 6 PM
- DUE 30 virtual sketchbook entries of #40 total
- DUE Project #4 COMPLETED with all uploads required onto FBsite
- DUE Project #4 Talking Points from assignment completed on FBsite
- DUE Minimum of 4 in-process sketches / drawings / collages uploaded to FBsite for Project #5

Nature Inspired Interruptions & Interfacings
Working with and from the Earth, a Site-specific Installation 
Andy Goldsworthy inspired. 
Weather permitting, this is a two week assignment that will commence in WK #13 and be completed on FRI APR 24

When the weather gets better I want people to go outside and make use of natural materials for site specific installations 
The Earth is bountiful!

*** However, being that we are working remotely, I will get a good sense of everyone's best time to come together and reveal the final project.

Pancakes with Pepper Professor Pepper has set up a ZOOM CHAT ROOM  Every  Monday and Wednesday from 10:30 am - 11:30 am. This is a great way to come in and chat and see your colleagues.... Ask questions about the course, etc. >> And a nice way to decompress a bit. It is  not  mandatory --  just an outlet to drop in with your coffee!
