SA 132 Professor Pepper 24 March 2020 Tara Donovan Biography Tara Donovan is a very well-known American sculptor. Donovan was born in 1969 in Queens, New York and now resides in Brooklyn, New York. Most of her childhood was spent in Blauvelt, New York with her two siblings. Donovan didn’t consider herself an artist until she went to college . She received her Bachelors of Fine arts from Corcoran College of Art and Design and her Masters of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1999. After that, she eventually received her first major solo exhibition at the Corcoran Gallery of art's Hemicycle Gallery. Donovan also was able to participate in the prestigious biennial of the Whitney Museum of American Art just a year later. Her success began to grow at a very fast pace.
